Malta introduces changes to Malta Residence and Visa Programme

As of 4th July, 2017, Malta has introduced changes to the Malta Residence and Visa Programme (MRVP) in order to make this programme even more attractive to prospective applicants. The MRVP is available to all non-EU applicants and gives the applicant residency rights in Malta as well as visa free travel across all Schengen States.

The main requirements are now as follows;

1. Contribution fee;

i. A € 30,000 contribution fee that covers the Main Applicant, spouse, and the children of the Main Applicant  and/or the Spouse at application stage.

ii. An additional €5,000 contribution per parent or grandparent of the main applicant or of the spouse at application stage.

2. Income Requirements: Foreign-source income of not less than €100,000 per year or accumulated capital of not less than €500,000

3. Property: minimum acquisition value €270,000/€320,000; or minimum annual rental value €10,000/€12,000

4. Additional Investment: €250,000 to be held for a minimum of 5 years
